Wheelchair Tennis Festival to celebrate 50years of the sport!

Tennis Leicestershire in conjunction with the LTA, We do Tennis, and the Make Change Inclusive Sports Programme hosted the festival at the Leicestershire Tennis and Squash Club on Saturday 21st June 2026. The event was open to all with a physical impairment who wanted to try the sport, and a diverse range of players attended. Tennis Leicestershire's Disability Lead Jayant Mistry, the former british number 1 wheelchair player and a key organiser of the event said " I'm over the moon with the 12 peole who attended today....It was a range of people from the very young, people returning, the local wheelchair basketball club and someone who had played tennis for years and after having his leg amputated below the knee a few months ago wanted to get back to tennis"
